Cookie Notice
This page explains which cookies and similar technologies Ocean Tails Music uses, why, and how you can change your preferences. It is maintained by Ocean Tails Music (Jen Smith Lanthier) and should be read alongside our privacy policy.
What we use today
We try to keep the site lean. We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics. The only non-essential technology is embedded YouTube video, which is blocked until you give consent.
Essential
These are required for the site to work. They cannot be turned off.
- Account session — stores your login (set by our authentication provider). Without it you cannot sign in, access your courses, or check out.
- Shopping cart — your cart is kept in your browser's local storage so it survives page reloads.
- Checkout — when you proceed to payment, Stripe sets cookies on its own hosted checkout page to process the transaction and prevent fraud.
- Cookie preferences — we store your choice locally so we don't ask again on every page.
Marketing & embedded content (consent required)
- YouTube (
youtube-nocookie.com) — used to embed teaching videos and product demos. Even in privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube sets cookies once you press play. We load these embeds only after you accept marketing cookies (or use “Play video” on an individual placeholder).
How to change your mind
You can update your choice at any time using the button above, or the link in the site footer. Clearing your browser's site data will also reset your choice.
